WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in West Babylon that left a man injured Monday morning.
Thomas Barbal, 20, was standing in front of his Terrace Avenue home when he was wounded in the right arm and left leg around 7:50 a.m. by a gunman inside a passing 1995 Toyota Celica, police said.
Two suspects were arrested a short time later. Geoffrey Tobin, 19, of North Babylon, has been charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. Miranda Mugavero, 20, faces weapons charges.
Barbal was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call 631-854-8152.
